I was watching this video and I lost sound at 00:02:25. Is it just me or is there an issue with the recording?

I hope to see this later on rumble, I get fewer glitches there.

Thanks!

Interesting. I just checked and there’s no glitches on my end, but I’ll ask others if they’re having any issues!

Thank you for answering. It could be on my end only, or that those the substack video/audio glitches only happen in some browsers in some cases.

Hey! So sorry about the glitch. It’s a little later than 2:25 but alas I’m experiencing the sound cuts out a few minutes into the show. I’ll be taking it down and reuploading. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience.

This video I need to rewatch, and absorb, and dissect properly. I live and appreciate the contributors. Thanks, Courtenay. They are all great contributors and researchers. I like to think I am too.

I'm watching this riveting 5-way conversation, and I'm half-way in.

A lot of this "fascist nudging" is actually about exploiting the boredom of a lot of people.

In my view, there are two types of people: the activists and the thinkers. The former get bored easily, the latter very rarely.

The thinkers defend the most absurd ideas for decades, but the activists only last for a few months, maybe a couple of years. Then they search a new absurd idea to help develop their activism.

Thinkers are almost immune to nudging. Activists are nudge-junkies.

A third type emerges: the actvist in recovery. Those almost always have engaged in a real religious tradition as a escape for their addiction to political activism. It's a key aspect of real religious practice to always be doing something, and to have something to do for everyone in the community.

On the other hand, the thinkers tend to live like monks: ora et labora. It's a natural outcome. They homestead, and recommend homesteading. In that way, they avoid worldliness, novelty and emotional disruption. As time passes, the monk becomes a poet, a musician, or a stargazer. Anything but the News, please!

Fascism condemns the thinkers and the monks as asocial and enemies of the people. And the fascists are probably right.

Fascism extols the virtues of activists, the more animal-like the better (see the case of environmental activists) and offers a system of religion, a new religion that pretends to be very old and restored anew, like Pythagoreanism or Gnosticism. Everyone is now busy and happy. Many Germans were very happy in the 1930s with all the progressive social programs of the NSDAP government.

The activists do not realize they live inside the mouth of a giant alligator.

The thinkers and the monks have the opportunity to learn to die gracefully and without regret.

In summary: boredom is the main driver for chaos and war.
